Govett's Leap - Blackheath

Just near the township of Blackheath in the upper Blue Mountains is the scenic lookout at Govett's leap.  Some mystery surrounds the name of the area with wild stories of bushrangers plunging to their death and the like.

The simplest explanation is that the area was named after an early surveyor
